Independent financial advice – the journey

Clear guidance. Thoughtful decisions. Long-term partnership.

Clear guidance.
Thoughtful decisions.
Long-term partnership.

At Novitas Wealth Management, we provide independent financial advice on investments and non-investment protection.

Being independent means we look across the market and recommend what is suitable for you, never what fits a panel or a product range. Our advice is based on your circumstances, your priorities and your long-term plans.

Much of the financial advice industry follows familiar patterns. Similar recommendations. Similar portfolios. A focus on short-term performance rather than the wider picture.

We take a more considered approach – one that is shaped around the individual, not the default.

We only recommend action when we believe it genuinely improves your position.

A simple reminder: investments carry risk. Values can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invest.

Our standards are straightforward:

Open and transparent

Your interests first

Clear communication, without jargon.

The Novitas Way

Thoughtful. Structured. Joined up.

Most people do not need more information. They need clear thinking and steady guidance.

What often makes the difference is not access to more products but avoiding the quiet mistakes that can build up over time.

We describe our approach as uncommon intelligence – taking the time to think clearly, step back from default assumptions and make decisions that genuinely fit.

This means helping you avoid the common patterns we see elsewhere:

  • Acting too quickly because something feels urgent
  • Delaying decisions because it feels complex
  • Following a ‘standard’ approach that doesn’t quite reflect your situation
  • Making one change that unintentionally creates another issue.

Our role is to bring structure and clarity. We take the time to understand your situation properly, then build a plan that is practical, sustainable and tailored to you.

This is a partnership. We work alongside you, at a considered pace.

How the advice process works

A clear, staged journey designed to make complex decisions feel manageable and to avoid default, one-size-fits-all outcomes.

1

A first conversation

We begin with an initial discussion, without pressure or obligation.

We will explore:

  • What you want your money to do, now and in the future
  • What has changed recently and what may be coming next
  • Whether we are the right fit for how you would like to work.

We will explain how we work, outline our fees clearly and answer any questions you may have.

This first conversation is at our cost. If you would like time to reflect afterwards, that is completely fine. We do not rush decisions and we do not begin work until everything is agreed in writing.

If we do not believe we can add value, we will tell you.

2

Building a clear foundation

If you decide to proceed, the next step is to gain a full understanding of your position. This is where we move away from assumptions and avoid ‘default’ advice.

We take time to discuss:

  • Your current arrangements and priorities
  • What ‘enough’ looks like for you
  • Your timeframes and flexibility
  • Risk in practical, real-life terms
  • Any complexity or inefficiencies that may be affecting outcomes.

We also agree the scope of advice and what ongoing support might look like.

At this stage we will put formal agreements in place, including:

  • A Client Agreement
  • Our Service Proposition
  • A clear fee agreement
  • Authority to gather information where needed
  • Identity verification.

You do not need to have everything perfectly organised. We will guide you through what is required.

3

Research and strategy

Much of our work happens behind the scenes. This is where anti-default decisions take shape.

We:

  • Gather and assess details of existing arrangements
  • Review whether current solutions still earn their place
  • Build a strategy around your goals and timeframes
  • Design a plan that works in practice, not just on paper
  • Prepare clear written recommendations
  • Create a structured action plan.

Our focus is on clarity and coherence — turning complexity into decisions that are considered, connected and tailored to you.

4

Your advice meeting

We meet to talk you through our recommendations in a clear and balanced way.

You will receive a suitability report that sets out:

  • The objectives and information used
  • The research and analysis undertaken
  • The reasoning behind our recommendations
  • The key benefits and risks
  • All costs and relevant terms.

We focus on what matters most: what would change, why it improves your position and what it means for you in practice.

If our advice is to make no changes for now, we will tell you clearly.

5

Implementation

If you decide to proceed, we take care of the practical steps.

We will:

  • Complete applications and documentation
  • Liaise with providers and third parties
  • Confirm any cancellation rights
  • Keep you informed throughout
  • Confirm actions in writing.

Our aim is to make implementation smooth and straightforward, so you can remain focused on the bigger picture.

6

Ongoing support

Financial planning is not a one-off event. Circumstances change. Markets move. Regulations evolve. Priorities shift.

If you choose our ongoing service, we agree together the appropriate level of support and review.

Our role is to help you continue making considered, non-default decisions over time – keeping your plans aligned, reducing unnecessary complexity, and adapting as your life evolves.

We build long-term relationships, not transactions.

Considering a first conversation?

Not everyone needs ongoing advice. If your situation is simple and you are confident managing it independently, we will say so.

Where we tend to add the most value is when there are multiple moving parts, important transitions ahead, or a sense that things are broadly on track but could be better aligned.

A first conversation may simply provide clarity.

If you would like to explore whether we can support you, we would be pleased to speak with you.
